Lionhearts Cut Down Grasshoppers, 4-1

Lannister United and San Bernardino got after it at Field of the Grasshoppers.
Lannister United rode a good effort from starter Kevin Maughan to beat the San Bernardino Grasshoppers at Field of the Grasshoppers. The final score was 4-1. Maughan, now 7-4, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing no earned runs.
Lannister United relied on the hitting of Gonzalo Vásquez to pick up the win. The third baseman ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the third inning to put the Lionhearts on top, 1-0. For the game, Vásquez had 1 triple and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Lionhearts manager Luis González, "I like our chances."
Lannister United is now 51-40, while San Bernardino is 53-38.
