Starting pitcher Ralph Greer pitched well enough to help the San Bernardino Grasshoppers beat the Lancaster Farmers by the score of 6-3. In 6.2 innings, Greer surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed 3 runs. Marcos Mesorana got the save, the 19th for him this season.
Joe Ellison's at-bat in the top of the third was significant for the Grasshoppers. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and San Bernardino leading 3-1, the left fielder drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"We played hard and won," said Greer. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
The Grasshoppers now have a record of 47-33 with the win over Lancaster.
