Victory Pushes Atoms Record to 43-34
|
The Bethesda Atoms stopped the Lancaster Farmers, 5-2, at Atoms Field. The Atoms got a big game from Thierry Honoré, who was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. Dennis Bly got the win, improving to 4-0. He held the Farmers to 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Bethesda is 4th in the Silver AA with a record of 43-34.
Honoré had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 0-1 curveball from Fidelio Zeri, he banged a solo home run to right-center, giving the Atoms a 3-2 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Honoré.
Honoré called the win "a collective effort."
