Blue Sox Raise Rally Flag, Beat Bethesda, 3-2

Bethesda pitcher José López gave the Blue Sox all they could handle, but in the end, Irving left Atoms Field with a 3-2 win. López allowed 2 earned runs on 3 hits over 5.2 innings. Irving reliever José Colón got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Ben Olsen was tagged with the loss. Kerry Tenner notched his 9th save in 10 chances.
Had Tom Boyer not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Boyer hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Blue Sox.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Boyer.
Irving is now 42-28.
