Farmers Get Past Bethesda for 2-1 Win
|
The Bethesda Atoms wasted an inspired, 8-inning effort from starter John A. Mais, falling 2-1 to the Lancaster Farmers at Farmers Field. Lancaster occupies 7th place in the Silver AA at 28-28.
The Farmers were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when right fielder Jesús Herrera turned a 0-1 fastball from Jules Goux into a 2-run double. The walk-off double sent a roar through the crowd and gave Lancaster a thrilling 2-1 win.
Herrera said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
