Grasshoppers Slip Past Lancaster, 5-4

The San Bernardino Grasshoppers did just enough to sneak past the Lancaster Farmers, 5-4, at Field of the Grasshoppers. San Bernardino first baseman Howard Lee earned player of the game honors. The winner was San Bernardino reliever Rafael Bernal, now 2-0. The loser was René Fontaine. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for San Bernardino.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when San Bernardino catcher Ángelo Díaz, facing René Fontaine, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Grasshoppers the 5-4 win.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Lancaster manager Luis Barroco.
