Long Island Seawolves starter Caspar Irwin turned in an exceptional performance against the Phoenix Hotspur Youth at Ballpark of Remsen, resulting in a Long Island win, 6-2. In 5.1 innings, Irwin surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Dao-zi Zhai earned the save for Long Island, his 1st of the year.

Wes O'Mulhill aided the Long Island cause with a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the first. For the game, the catcher went 1 for 2 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI.

"It feels good to get this one," Irwin told the Long Island Herald.

The Seawolves improved to 15-23.
