Lionhearts Roll to 9-3 Win Over Seawolves
|
Lannister United pitcher Kevin Maughan did his part in helping his team beat the Long Island Seawolves, 9-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Maughan, now 4-2, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing no earned runs. The first-place Lionhearts have a one-game lead in their division.
Michael Witt, who is rated as the 71st best prospect by BNN, contributed to the Lannister United win with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 RBI.
"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Lannister United manager Luis González.
