Seawolves Clip Lionhearts in Tight Contest
|
The Long Island Seawolves faced a tough opponent in Lannister United pitcher Tony Torres, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Lionheart Field by a final score of 6-2. Torres went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The Seawolves now have a record of 13-22 with the win over Lannister United.
The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Cheong-hun Kang came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Lannister United pitcher Joy-shan Men, he hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Long Island on top, 3-2.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Seawolves manager Rich Hunter. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
