Victory Over Farmers Takes Lannister United to 16-10
|
The Lannister United Lionhearts went home winners at Farmers Field, thanks in large part to starter Érik Moreau. Moreau silenced the Lancaster Farmers, enabling Lannister United to grab the 2-1 win. Moreau got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 7 hits and walked 0 over 6 innings. Moreau allowed 1 earned run. Joy-shan Men earned the save for Lannister United, his 8th of the year.
Had Juan López not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, López hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Lionhearts.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Moreau told the Lannister United Bulletin.
The Lionhearts improved to 16-10.
