Towns Rips Long Island for 5 Hits
|
Travis Towns put on a hitting clinic today as the San Bernardino Grasshoppers dumped the Long Island Seawolves 6-4 at Ballpark of Remsen.
The San Bernardino right fielder made Long Island defenders earn their pay, lashing Long Island pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Towns said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Travis Towns singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
