Grasshoppers Win in Extras
|
Fans who congregated at Ballpark of Remsen were treated to extra-inning drama.
Long Island left fielder John Mayasich was sensational. He was 4 for 7 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. San Bernardino beat the Seawolves, 6-4. Mayasich was named the player of the game despite the loss. With the win, San Bernardino goes to 10-4.
Lawrence Stokes, who was drafted in the three round of the 2030 draft, aided the San Bernardino cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the 15th. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 4 with 4 walks.
"There's a lot of good karma around our club," said winning manager Manny Cuellar.
