Hernández Slaps 5 Hits
|
It was a sensational day at the plate for Jesús Hernández as he led the charge to a 5-3 win over the Seawolves. The San Bernardino right fielder was pure misery for the Long Island pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"Hernández put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Rich Hunter, manager for the Seawolves, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Jesús Hernández singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Teok-kyu Ch'oe in the 5th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 8th, singled in the 10th and singled in the 12th.
This year Hernández has hit at a .370 clip with 4 RBIs, 1 home run and 8 runs scored.
