|
Lannister United left-hander Tony Torres pitched his team to victory over the Phoenix Hotspur Youth at Lionheart Field. The final score was 6-4. In 7 innings, Torres surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 4. He allowed 2 runs. Joy-shan Men locked down his 4th save.
Lannister United first baseman Miklos Elias helped the Lionhearts to the win. In the bottom of the second inning, the 24-year old shortstop stroked a bases-clearing triple. For the game, Elias was 1 for 3 with a triple and a walk. He drove in 3 runs.
"Credit where credit is due," said Elias, "this was a team win."
The defending champion Lionhearts have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 6-6 with the win.
