Athletic Club KC Academy got a terrific performance from pitcher Matt Walters, but it wasn't enough to beat the Long Island Seawolves. Long Island won the KC Academy Field contest, 2-1. Walters was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Jing-shuan Thum picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. César Muńóz was tagged with the loss. The Athletic Club KC Academy fall to 5-6 and continue their wobbly start to the 2034 season.

Had John Mayasich not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Mayasich hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Seawolves.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Mayasich told the Long Island Herald.
