Sixshooters Pin 5-2 Loss on BC
|
The San Antonio BC inaugurated the 2034 campaign with a disappointing 5-2 loss to the Westwood Sixshooters at San Antonio Field. Westwood left fielder Jorge Corella had a big impact on the outcome. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. José Blanco was the winner. Over 7.2 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. Earning his 1st save of the year was Christian Clayton.
Oki Hai was 1 for 3 with a walk for Westwood. The 24-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Dru Krebs. It was his 1st RBI of the season.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Westwood skipper Rubén Ramírez.
