Braves Get One-Run Win at Sioux Falls
|
In a high-scoring game between Gryfindor and Sioux Falls, first baseman Bob Petiet was a difference-maker. The 26-year-old earned player of the game honors in the 9-8 Gryfindor win. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Gryfindor reliever José Ortíz was the winner. His record is now 2-2. The losing pitcher was Raúl Gómez. Ollie McDaniell closed the game out for Gryfindor, earning his 1st save.
Vicente Andros's at-bat in the top of the sixth inning was a big one for Gryfindor. Coming to bat with one out, runners on 1st and 2nd and Gryfindor leading 4-3, the catcher hit a run-scoring single.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Andros told the Gryfindor Observer. "It's as simple as that."
The Braves are now 35-61, while the Red Pandas fall to 47-49.
