Victory Over Drummers Takes Alaskan to 67-29
|
The Tortolita Drummers got a sterling performance from pitcher Daniel Martínez, but the Humpbacks still prevailed, 4-2. Martínez was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Alaskan reliever Sima Babic picked up the win, bumping his record to 6-1. Pedro Figueroa was collared with the loss. Earning his 23rd save for Alaskan was Jorge Garza.
Chris Walters, who is rated as the 80th best prospect by BNN, aided the Alaskan cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the second. For the game, the catcher drew 1 walk.
"This was a good win for us," said Walters. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
The Humpbacks saw their record improve to 67-29.
