Coyotes Suffer 5-3 Loss to Drummers
|
The Tortolita Drummers picked up a win at Drummers Ballpark, knocking off the Hamilton Coyotes, 5-3. Starting pitcher Jack Buyse played a key role in the triumph. Buyse, now 8-6, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 3, and allowing 3 earned runs. Earning his 18th save for Tortolita was Briggs Bourgeois.
Tortolita took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 2nd, Jesús Martínez hit a run-scoring single to make it 4-3, Drummers.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Buyse said.
Tortolita is now 52-36, Hamilton 38-50.
