Victory Pushes Timber Hawks Record to 61-26
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Augusta Timber Hawks got the win.
The Augusta Timber Hawks got a strong performance from pitcher Emil Olsson, who stymied the Sunset District offense en route to a 4-2 win at Timber Hawks Ballpark. In 6.1 innings, Olsson surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Gus Osborne converted his 20th save in 22 tries.
Carlos Medellín hit a run-scoring triple off C'Bo Flemister in the bottom of the fifth, which put the Timber Hawks in front, 2-1. Medellín had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Medellín said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
The Timber Hawks have an impressive 61-26 record.
