5 Straight Wins for Humpbacks
The Alaskan Humpbacks topped the Hamilton Coyotes, 8-1, with youngster Wally Briggs playing a key role. Briggs went 4 for 4 with 4 singles, while scoring 3 runs for the Humpbacks in the win. Alaskan reliever Sam Schultz was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Matt Davenport took the loss. The Humpbacks, at 58-25, have now won 5 straight.

Craig Morgan had a big 2-run double for the Humpbacks in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Alaskan leading 3-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Matt Davenport and stroked the double to center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Humpbacks ahead, 5-1.

"We looked pretty good up and down," said Alaskan manager John Carney.
