Bowties Lose to Rainbow Mermaids, 9-5
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids bested the Buckhead Bowties by a score of 9-5, with left fielder Scott Kerin getting the main credit. On the day, Kerin was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Rainbow Mermaids. Ricardo García got the win, improving to 3-4. He worked 7.1 innings, giving up 5 runs on 10 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Christian Mustard picked up the save for Northern Virginia, his 5th of the year.

One of the key players for the Rainbow Mermaids was third baseman Eustacio Tafalla, who drilled a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning. For the game, Tafalla was 2-4 with a triple and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Tafalla.

The Rainbow Mermaids improve their record to 17-19 with the win over Buckhead.
