The 2034 season is getting ugly for D.C..
Portland Evergreens starter Jorge Otero was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the D.C. Divided, 7-1. Otero, the winner, moves to 3-1. He threw 6 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks.
Shahid Afridi, who is tied for 3rd in the PL in triples with 3, aided the Portland cause with a bases-clearing double in the top of the fourth. For the game, the left fielder went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Portland manager Imran Baig.
Portland is now 18-17, D.C. 13-22.
