Braves Win in Extras
|
Akke Derksen added some punch to the Gryfindor offense, helping them outmuscle the Key West Coral Reefers, 9-8. In the game, Derksen, who is tied for 10th in the 3AAA with a .863 OPS, went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 4 times and drove in 3. Gryfindor reliever Suezo Amano was the winner. His record is now 2-4. The losing pitcher was Octávio Fernández. The Braves' win now puts them at 21-43.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With one out, Derksen hit a curveball from Octávio Fernández for a solo home run. The Braves, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Derksen. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
