The Disaster faced a stiff challenge from Hamilton pitcher Yusuke Chikafuji, but persevered to claim a win at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. The final score was 4-3. Chikafuji went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Masaharu Sakata, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save. Port Royal is now 29-27.
Had John Burton not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 1st, Burton hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Disaster.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Burton told the Port Royal Daily News.
