Evergreens Pull Even With 7-2 Victory
|
It was a good time at Evergreen Park, where fans came to watch the Chicago Gold Sox and Portland Evergreens get after it.
The Portland Evergreens picked up a win at Evergreen Park, knocking off the Chicago Gold Sox, 7-2. On the mound for Portland was right-hander Jorge Otero, who played a pivotal role in the win. Otero, now 2-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run.
Billy Dotson, who is rated as the 5th best prospect by BNN, contributed to the Portland win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"It was a solid team effort," said Dotson after the game.
After today's action, Portland sits at 16-16, while Chicago falls to 19-13.
