Greenham Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Las Vegas in Walk-Off Win
|
The Vancouver Grey Wolves got a superb performance from pitcher Miguel López, but the Las Vegas Flamingos still won the game, 4-3. López was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 7 innings of shutout ball. Las Vegas reliever Esteban Ruíz picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Sjaak Bonne shouldered the loss. Las Vegas is now 13-18, while Vancouver is 15-16.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Las Vegas trailing 3-2, Ellis Greenham hit a sinker from Sjaak Bonne to center for a 2-run double. Just like that, the Flamingos had a walk-off win.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Greenham told the Las Vegas Bulletin.
