Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Disaster
|
Sunset District got a terrific performance from pitcher Steve Henryson, but it wasn't enough to beat the Port Royal Disaster. Port Royal won the Ballpark of Port Royal contest, 3-2. Henryson was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. Port Royal reliever Chenor Njie picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Carlos Rodríguez was saddled with the loss. The win leaves Port Royal with a record of 9-10.
Steve Bock was the walk-off hero for Port Royal. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Disaster shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We did enough to win," said Bock.
