Drummers Deal Coyotes Painful Loss
|
Tortolita played host to Hamilton at the friendly confines of Drummers Ballpark.
The Tortolita Drummers trumped the Hamilton Coyotes, 6-5, at Drummers Ballpark. Tortolita designated hitter Colby King was named player of the game for his performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Tortolita reliever Pedro Figueroa picked up the win to move to 1-2. Kevin Pilkington suffered the loss.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Tortolita trailing 5-3, King hit a cutter from Kevin Pilkington for a 3-run home run, giving the Drummers the walk-off win.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Tortolita manager Arturo Chávez.
The win leaves Tortolita with a record of 7-6.
