Drummers Hope Win Turns Around Slow Start
|
Dave Sienna helped his team muscle past the Salt Lake City Buzz, 4-3. In the game, the Tortolita center fielder went 1-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Roy Alsobrook, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Buzz to 3 earned runs on 6 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Tortolita, now 1-3, is off to a slow start.
Sienna contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Tortolita in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Sienna took a changeup from Tony Smehrik and stroked the home run to left-center. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Drummers to leap in front, 4-2.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Sienna told a Tortolita Bulletin reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
