Rainbow Mermaids Slip Past Boston, 3-2
Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids starter Addie Samson turned in an exceptional performance against the Boston Patriots at Atlantica, resulting in a Northern Virginia win, 3-2. Northern Virginia reliever Iván García picked up the win to move to 2-0. Armando Garay suffered the loss. Northern Virginia is 13-12 and Boston, with the loss, 15-10.

Late in the game, first baseman Zahid Kashani had a big at-bat for Northern Virginia. In the bottom of the 13th, he hit a run-scoring single off Shuntavyious Primes-Willes. The play gave the Rainbow Mermaids a 3-2 lead.

In postgame comments, Kashani said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
