The Vancouver Grey Wolves beat the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 12-4, at Wolf Den in Vancouver. The Grey Wolves got a fine performance from third baseman Hugh Mungus, who captured player of the game honors. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Vancouver has now won 3 in a row.

Joe Phillips came through for Vancouver in the bottom of the fourth. With one out, Phillips victimized Mimosa Joseph with a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put Vancouver on top, 5-1.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Phillips. "And not try to do too much."
