Red-Hot Gaoteote 3R Player of the Week Monday, August 29th, 2033 No single hit brought Palaie Gaoteote Player of the Week honors -- the Quebec Rookies left fielder corralled the award with a consistent approach in every at-bat. "Hitting is all about discipline," said Gaoteote. "When you lose focus, start to lunge at the ball and swing too aggressively... swinging at a lot of bad pitches... that's when your average starts to drop and you wind up fighting for playing time. You're most successful when you concentrate on the ball and make 'em throw strikes." Concentrate he did. Gaoteote stroked 9 hits in 13 at-bats while cranking out 4 home runs, 8 RBIs and 6 runs scored. So far this year, Gaoteote is batting .374 with 49 home runs and 127 RBIs. |
