Deal and Caballero Brawl, League Suspends Them Tuesday, August 23rd, 2033 After an intense confrontation, both the Rookies Jon Deal and the Deer Alfonso Caballero were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Quebec-Sheridan game. Both players will miss 6 games as a result of their actions. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Jon Deal commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Deal is hitting .310 this year with 18 home runs and 67 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .360, 30 walks and scored 53 times. To date this year Caballero has won 3 and lost 0 with a 6.09 ERA, 1 save and 34 strikeouts in 14 relief appearances. |
