SR Pick for Top Pitcher in July is Valenzuela Monday, August 1st, 2033 Newcastle's Wilson Valenzuela hated to see July end. It was one of the single greatest months the reliever has posted, and the 20-year-old reliever did so well that he garnered enough votes for the USSL Rookie Pitcher of the Month trophy. Valenzuela held the opposition to a .183 batting average in no relief appearances. He worked 35.1 innings, collected no saves, sat down 33 on strikes and posted a 4-0 record and a 1.02 ERA. To this point in the season he has had no saves. Valenzuela has made no relief appearances, tossed 96.1 innings and struck out 83 with a record of 7 wins and 3 losses. |
