Germantown No Match for Hammond Monday, July 25th, 2033 Capital Hill Interns fans were pleased to see so many goose eggs up on the scoreboard as Ed Hammond blanked the Germantown Uruguayans, 7-0 at Alouettes Ballpark today. Hammond stopped them on 7 hits while walking 2 and striking out 7. "Once he gets in a groove, he can be dynamite," Interns skipper Jorge Díaz said. "He was on top of his game in this one." So far this year Hammond has made 17 starts, tossed 121.1 innings, struck out 123 batters and walked 31. His record is 9-5 with a 2.60 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .223 batting average.
