PR Selects Pereira August's Best Pitcher Thursday, September 1st, 2033 Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Pepe Pereira, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Ogallala Octopi reliever, 21, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .105 average and walked away with the USPL Rookie Pitcher of the Month award for August. Pereira posted a 1-0 mark and a 0.34 ERA in 13 relief appearances. In 26.1 innings, he had 4 saves, 36 strikeouts, and 4 walks. This season Pereira has logged 10 saves. He has thrown 87.2 innings, dished out 129 strikeouts and walked 24 while putting up a 6-4 mark and a 2.46 ERA. |
