Yniguez Rips Reno for 5 Hits
Monday, August 1st, 2033
Ramón Yniguez put on a hitting clinic today as the Minnesota Loons dumped the Reno Silver Sox 13-4 at Tennille Grounds.
The Minnesota second baseman made Reno defenders earn their pay, lashing Reno pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Yniguez said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Ramón Yniguez hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 9th.
This year Yniguez has collected a .378 batting average to date with 59 hits in 156 at-bats, 26 RBIs, 3 home runs and scored 16 times. He has played in 47 games.
