3 Bombs for Xuan-ling Chen
Monday, August 1st, 2033
Every now and then, everything just comes together.
Xuan-ling Chen discovered that today at Tennille Grounds, as he smashed three home runs during the 13-4 Minnesota Loons win over the Reno Silver Sox.
"I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them," the Minnesota first baseman said in his postgame interview. "The first was a hanging curve, the second was right down the middle and the last one was a good pitch, but I guessed right and put the wood to it."
Chen finished the day with 4 hits in 6 at-bats and 5 RBIs.
Xuan-ling Chen singled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Jeff Merritt in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Quaide Weimerskirch in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Quaide Weimerskirch in the 8th and flied out in the 9th.
In 58 games Chen is hitting .240 this season with 40 hits, 8 home runs, 27 RBIs, 30 walks, .354 OBP and has scored 25 runs.
