Espantoso Hits in 20 Straight Games Wednesday, August 31st, 2033 The Salt Lake City Buzz may have proven to be mere mortals today as they lost 10-5 to the Vermont Lake Monsters, but Germán Espantoso continued to hit like a god. The left fielder collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. "Espantoso is playing great and is on fire right now," Buzz manager James Wheeler said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Espantoso was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Germán Espantoso singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. In 58 games Espantoso is hitting .300 this season with 63 hits, 1 home run, 23 RBIs, 11 walks, .344 OBP and has scored 34 runs. |
