Phoenix Snaps DeWitt's Streak at 21
Thursday, May 19th, 2033
For 21 straight games, Kenny DeWitt tried to ignore his hitting streak. It wasn't easy.

Well, the 24-year-old South Beach Blaze catcher can forget about it now -- it's over, courtesy of the Phoenix Hotspur U-21. The Hotspur U-21 held him hitless in 4 at-bats at Hotspur Kiddie Complex today and snapped his consecutive-game hitting string at 21.

There was at least one good note to the end of the streak, however, as the Blaze took the win by the score of 1-0.

"I tried to ignore it for weeks, but you guys in the media wouldn't let me," he joked with reporters after the game. "I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet now."

DeWitt is hitting .420 so far this season with 9 RBIs and 9 runs scored. He has 21 hits including 2 home runs, 8 walks and .508 OBP.
