Guzzlers End Zexian's Streak Monday, August 1st, 2033 It was the best of both worlds for the Galesburg Guzzlers today at Pipers Ballpark, as they defeated the Gwinnett County Black Cats 5-4 and also snapped Qing-nian Zexian's 21-game hitting streak. The 18-year-old Gwinnett County first baseman failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Zexian, we just wanted to win the game," said Guzzlers skipper . "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Zexian frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." Zexian is hitting .304 so far this season with 42 RBIs and 33 runs scored. He has 80 hits including 3 home runs, 25 walks and .387 OBP. |
