Smalls Acclaimed Top Pitcher in August Thursday, September 1st, 2033 Over the past month Robert Smalls has turned quite a few heads. He's young, talented and able to pitch with the established arms in the USSL Single A. He proved all that and now he's been named August's Pitcher of the Month. The rookie for the Connetquot Chiefs posted 5-0 mark and a 2.33 ERA. In 5 starts he tossed 38.2 innings, permitted 28 hits and fanned 35 batters. Thus far this season Smalls has posted a 12-5 record, started 21 games, struck out 151 batters in 156 innings and compiled a 3.17 ERA. |
