Road Win Lifts Lannister United to 1-0 Lead in R1
|
The Lannister United Lionhearts started the SL AA Championship in style today, winning on the road against the Long Island Seawolves at Ballpark of Remsen by a score of 6-3 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Lionhearts right-hander Surrealiste Zhejna was named player of the game after he threw 7 innings allowing 3 runs.
Lannister United left fielder Bill Boyd helped the Lionhearts go up, 1-0, in the top of the third inning. With the game tied, Boyd hit a run-scoring single off Long Island pitcher Mathieu Neri.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Boyd told the Lannister United Times. "It's as simple as that."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Remsen in East Hampton. The scheduled starters for the game are Kliment Spirk for Lannister United and Floyd Cala for Long Island.
