Belugas Win to Extend Series Lead to 3-1
|
Despite a great performance by Port Royal left fielder Bob Daugherty, the Brinkley Belugas defeated the Disaster by the score of 5-3 at Ballpark of Port Royal today. Daugherty was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles to earn player of the game honors, but could not prevent the Belugas from moving one game closer to the Round 2. Brinkley now leads the 3L AAA Championship 3-1.
Port Royal had the bases empty in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Gary Chalmers came to bat, hoping to do some damage. Instead, he struck out. The score remained 5-3, Brinkley. The Disaster saw their comeback bid fail.
