Black Cats Bump Off Blaze, 5-1
|
Gwinnett County left-hander Lawrence Lane made an effective start against the South Beach Blaze at The Ballpark on the Beach, leading his team to a 5-1 win. The Black Cats bumped their record to 53-44 with this latest triumph.
Gwinnett County relied on the hitting of Wallace Bane to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Black Cats on top, 2-0. For the game, Bane had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It was a good effort all around," said Lane.
