Disaster Hammered by Wang, Fall Further Behind in R1
|
The Brinkley Belugas moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Port Royal Disaster at Belugas Ballpark by a score of 14-2. Belugas designated hitter Wu-shiun Wang was named player of the game after he was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. The win gives the Belugas a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 3L AAA Championship.
Guy Toussaint swatted a 2-run home run for Brinkley in the bottom of the first. The second baseman went 2 for 5 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and batted in 2.
"It was a solid team effort," said Wang after the game.
The next game is set to be played Saturday in Port Royal. Slated to start are Alejandro Araya for Brinkley and Jeff Porter for Port Royal.
