Stokes, Revolution Sink Caterpillars Again in Game 2
|
The York Revolution moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Grand Forks Caterpillars at York Park by a score of 10-5. Revolution third baseman Lawrence Stokes was named player of the game after he went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. The win gives the Revolution a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 3L A Championship.
Stokes had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the fourth inning, when he hit a grand slam. The Revolution went on to win.
"This was a good win for us," said Stokes. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
The next game is set to be played Sunday, September 11th, 2033 at The Cocoon. Slated to start are Knud Herrewijn for the York Revolution and Ignacio Uribe for the the Grand Forks Caterpillars.
