Baby Lakers Stay Hot, Beat Beavers
|
The Bompton Baby Lakers topped the Ballard Beavers, 6-4, with youngster Roy Snider playing a key role. Snider went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Baby Lakers in the win. Bompton reliever Laurens Bancroft was the winner. His record is now 3-4. The losing pitcher was Steve Barnett. The Baby Lakers have now won 6 straight.
In the bottom of the 7th, right fielder Carlos Hernández gave Bompton the lead when he hit a bases-clearing double. The Baby Lakers had been trailing 4-2, but the two-out double off Ballard pitcher Steve Barnett changed that -- and Bompton went on to win.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Snider told the Bompton Daily News.
