The rain at Ballpark of Califon did not keep Staten Island and Athletic Club KC from finishing their game.

The Staten Island Pizza Rats topped the Athletic Club KC U-21 by the score of 6-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Don Mosley. Mosley went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Pizza Rats on the day. Roque Moreco picked up the save, his 4th.

A key at-bat in the game came in the bottom of the seventh inning when the Pizza Rats sent teenager Jesús Corona to the plate against U-21 hurler Ewan Gotobed. With the bases loaded and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a double off a 1-0 forkball to score 3.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Mosley told a Staten Island News reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."

Staten Island is now 36-57, while Athletic Club KC is 44-49.
